Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
At this time I accept Cigna insurance as well as most Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefits programs. I also offer a copay match option for Aetna, Florida Blue, and Humana members. For those that do not have insurance, we can discuss private pay fees.

What is online therapy and how does it work?
Online therapy is similar to in-person therapy in that you will meet one-on-one with your therapist in a private setting, except instead of going to an office you will participate in a video chat. Though this may sound daunting to some, it is actually very easy! Once your session is scheduled I will email you a link. When it’s time for your session you simply open the link on your webcam-enabled device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) and the video conference will begin! We can even practice before your session if needed.
Is my online therapy session still confidential?
Your session is completely confidential. I utilize a secure, HIPPA compliant videoconferencing platform at all times and our session is conducted in a private setting. I suggest that you pick a spot where others cannot overhear you and you are not at risk of being interrupted during our session. If I’m alerted to another person entering your space during our session, I will immediately stop talking to protect your privacy.
How do therapy and coaching differ?
Therapy and coaching differ in multiple ways, mainly in that therapy can only be conducted by a licensed clinician who has earned at least a masters degree and has gone through years of supervision and taken a state examination. A therapist is able to assess for, diagnose and treat mental health and substance use disorders as well as trauma, grief and complex relationship issues. These issues generally require in-depth exploration and most clients will need assistance in developing behavioral or cognitive strategies and coping skills to move forward.
Coaching is a less intensive, supportive service that is provided by someone who has taken a course on targeted goal setting techniques. Coaching is appropriate for someone who is mentally stable and has a goal in mind but is in need of accountability encouragement and a little extra push. Coaching can be done via videoconferencing or telephone.
